OOG: This is a follow-up to ‘A Star Falls to the Nexus’ and ‘Second Impact’, starting as the inhabitants of both cocoons arrive at the tavern. I will be taking over control of Calrun, the inhabitant of the first cocoon, and Tom Bird will be controlling Radovan, the second cocoon’s prisoner, as well as the rest of the scene. Everyone is welcome to join in – this is in the center of the Oasis Tavern.

The door to the Oasis Tavern is pushed open by Deputy Aegis, who holds the door open for a ragged-looking Terran and, just behind him, a massive grizzly bear. They look around with interest as Aegis introduces them.

“Mercenaries and citizens of Oasis, this is the Druid Calrun and a companion of his. They mean no harm to Oasis or its peoples, and have fled a dying world, escaping to Nexus. If anyone finds his husband, please report back to him or to the Sheriff’s office. I am going to go file the reports.” And with that, the construct turns on their heel and exits the tavern, the door swinging shut after them. The bear looks somewhat uneasy to be in an enclosed space with no obvious exit, but a brief murmur from the Druid calms her. Calrun looks up at the crowd in the tavern and waves tentatively.

“Um, hello everyone. I was told by Aegis that this tavern hosts most of the notable people of the town on a regular basis. I have dire news – Avhentir has fallen.” He nods significantly, then looks puzzled when nobody reacts to the name. “Avhentir? The Bastion of the Seven Planes? That Which Holds Back the Darkness? Surely this is not such a remote village that you are unaware of the planes… Wait,” he says, his voice hitching, “is this not Ferinir? What plane did I escape to?”

The walk back to Oasis will take only a fraction of the time that the initial search for the fallen pod took, with the team encounter nothing more than a few confused goblins and the occasional sleeping troll.
Arriving at midday, the pod has dissolved and been absorbed into the ground, leaving behind it a luxurious section of grass and wildflowers.
Seeing the structures and the vast woods, Radovin will nod to himself.
“Signs of civilization, excellent. Thank you for the escort, my new friends, I won’t forget this kindness”

Flash will walk quietly towards the bar. The looks of confusion he had before giving way to simple resolve as he would humm a soft tune to himself. Eventually walking into the Tavern Flash would freeze for a moment seeing the new face. “Looks like things keep getting more and more interesting.” He said to himself. Looking the Terran over.”Hello there.” He would say giving a light notld of his head to the newcomer.

Dusk will pop out of invisibility and move towards the bar, giving a tip of his hat to the newcomer. “Well, new faces and I just disintegrated a giant wolf. Sounds like it is whiskey o’clock.” With that he begins pouring several shots at the bar for all who wish them (the finest in bathtub whiskey)

Kei keeps near to Flash the whole trip. He was still worried about him and what all was going on around them. Things were going rather sideways and he was concerned. Kei was used the the mountains and the realative normalcy of it and didn’t nuch appreciate all that was going on.

Once inside dark eyes flick to the other newcomer as he passes on the whiskey. He enjoyed having his head about him at all times and would only rarely partake. Not to mention he still didn’t know what was going on with his friend and wanted to be all there when he was willing to talk.

Calrun looks up at the newcomers, weariness etched deep into his face.

“Hello to you all as well. I am Calrun, a Druid of Avhentir and…” He winces. “Well, that’s what I was, at least. Now, I suppose I’m just another refugee. Tell me, have you found anyone else like me? There were seven of us, seven to weave a portal into the fabric of the planes and get our city to safety, but something went wrong. I made it out, and I think I saw my husband do the same, but,” his breath hitches, “but everyone else… I think they were lost. Please, have you found anyone else?”

Long tail swishes slightly behind him as Kei’s dark eyes fix on the stranger named Calrun. “We did, yeah.” There’s a gesture of a fluffy head towards the other newcomer that emerged from the pod in the woods. “Says his name is Radovin. I’m afraid other than you two we’ve yet to find anyone else though.”

Radovins eyes will look over the interior of the bar, as his gaze reaches Calrun, he will grasp his head in sudden pain, falling to his knees

There’s a moment, a beat, when Calrun first sees Radovin – he radiates relief and joy and starts to talk over Kei, rushing towards Radovin.

“Darvim! You made it! I-” and then, in a flash, he processes Kei’s words. His eyes flicker between the Felinae and the Terran, and he stops.

“Is this some cruel joke?” His voice is hoarse, pained. “This is Darvim, my husband. You must have misheard him, Radovin was one of our greatest foes. We fought against him for years. Darvim, my love, tell them.”

Ears were now pinned back at all that suddenly happened. Being accused of making some completely unneeded joke and then suddenly the one who’d been traveling with them falls to their knees in pain. Cursing under his breath the Felinea quickly moves to Radovin’s side. Trying his best to look him over he speaks to Calrun. “Well that’s not what he told us now please step back.” He had no idea what was going on on with the man but having someone trying to say he wasn’t who he’d said he was really wasn’t needed at this point.

Gasping for breath, Radovin will rise to his feet again, his face now covered in snake like scales, only emphasizing the sneer on his face
“My body couldn’t make the journey, but this one? Not exactly prime shape here..older, out of shape, but well practiced in magic. He was very powerful. A good fit”

Kestrel waves off Dusk’s offer of whiskey with a thank you but no thank you then picks the nearest comfiest looking chair to flop onto. Going on little adventures like that is always exhausting. From this spot she watches the two newcomers in the tavern. As she begins to get up to great the new druid she notices the man who introduced himself as Radovin collapse to his knees and watched with confusion as Calrun goes to him and shares his conflicting knowledge of who they helped back into town.

“We didn’t mishear, he introduced himself as Radovin. How else would we know the game, he gave us no others…” Her eyes told her unspoken question; could something have gone horribly wrong during their escape?

Radovin’s announcement made Kestrel’s gaze snap back to the man and her eyebrows crease downwards.

“So you stole this man’s body? Was he still living?”

Flash let out a long sigh as he went to sit down at the bar. Lifting the poured drink he hears the others words. “Well…. Shit.” He says lightly his hand moving back to the large rifle on his back as he slowly turns back around. “This is why I hate the pod people movie they put out. Damn body snatchers and shit.” Flash levels the rifle and sighs again.

The moment that the man changes demeanor Dusk becomes serious and sets down his drink, slowly moving his coat aside to reveal his high caliber pistol. ” Mister, I think we should all take a beat and not do anything too hasty. Kei I would step away from both of them, maybe head over to Flash but not in the way of his hands.”
