Becoming part of the staff at Dying Light is both a rewarding and challenging job. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into making the game run smoothly, often behind the scenes. While “staff” seems a fun title, a lot of hours go into planning, crafting, and debating what makes for an optimal gaming experience. In addition to all of this, we expect staff to be role models of good sportsmanship and to conduct themselves to a higher standard of behavior to set a positive example.

Last game, an interpersonal dynamic resulted in a heated exchange. While we are all human, and make mistakes, we hold staff to a high standard of behavior and that includes myself. I can assure you that it will not happen again. Dying Light is working hard to address some of the concerns that lead up to that particular event, including some serious discussions about how female staff have traditionally been treated. I appreciate that these conversations are not “fun,” but ultimately we hope that Dying Light’s willingness to address difficult subjects will make us a healthier, more resilient community.

Taking ownership of one’s mistakes and a promise to do better is a BIG deal.
Thank you for putting yourself out there like that.
